Probably not "true" Sumi-e, but it was fun.

Painted from a photo I took several years before. I took a little bit of artistic license and "fixed" some of the architecture.

This drawing assignment had two layers: the bottom had the skeleton drawn on paper, while the top had the corresponding musculature drawn out on semi-transparent vellum.

Mr. Bones resided in the Life Drawing classroom.

One day in Life Drawing we didn't have a model, so class members took turns modeling for each other, 30 minutes at a time.

Daniel was a good artist, and at the time was doing a lot with engraving. I remember thinking some of his pieces were quite skilled.

This one probably took about a half-hour.

I remember this particular model did not look healthy or well to me.

This probably took a little over an hour, with the model taking a break halfway through.

From what I remember, this was an in-class drawing that took maybe 45 min.
